Software Engineer — Ōtautahi / Tāhuna, Aotearoa
Tannin Heeley
Final-year software-engineering student at the University of Canterbury passionate about learning, software and the outdoors.
I’m Tannin Heeley, a software engineering student at the University of Canterbury with a passion for building tools that solve real problems.
One of the things I enjoy most about software engineering is that every project demands you understand something new, whether that’s a different domain or a new technology. This has taken me from writing C# instrumentation libraries and designing Grafana dashboards, to building 3D model visualization tools and embedded systems.
I’ve represented New Zealand at international robotics competitions, volunteered teaching programming to younger students and tutoring at the university. Each experience developing how I think, communicate and work in a team.
I’m drawn to work where the problems are hard enough to keep me growing, and where the solutions have genuine real-world impact. Outside of engineering, you’ll find me climbing or hiking, checkout some of the places I have been on the adventures section of this site
